Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is a hands-on, non-invasive technique used by chiropractors to treat soft tissue restrictions, improve mobility, and support healing.

 IASTM uses specialized handheld instruments—often made of stainless steel with beveled edges—to apply controlled, repetitive strokes over muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia.
